Scripture Story
Of  how to be “Born Again” :
These are mostly from the Old King James Version:
For all other versions click on Bible Gateway, enter the verse or just the chapter and select other versions.  Notice that it allows you to do parallel readings to compare, and help you understand. What God intended should not change because of the translation of men.  It is often wise to seek the oldest scriptural references we can find to compare or understand the verses.  I use the King James because I believe the translators sought to do this to the best of their ability. But some of the newest translations are even better at this, and make the most readable translation of the earliest texts available modern by translation.  They also have scholars and translators who have access to more languages, and a broader understanding of early Hebrew and Greek inferences as the earliest readers might have understood them. To use the Gateway references click on Parallel and then the version you wish to compare it to. You have the Old King James here, try New Kings James for 21st century language, and compare to an International Version for instance.  For referencing the Actual Greek or Hebrew and discussions on the way the words originally could be used, use a Vine's Expository.

Jesus Son of God -

St. Mark 4: 35 41                 (When crossing over water in ships a storm came up. They woke Jesus from sleep and said) Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39. ..He rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, Be Still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40: And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? 41. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another,  What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Jesus to Rise from the Grave -

(Notice that he is telling them in advance how he will die and why.)

Mark 8: 27 36
(Jesus asked his disciples who they said that he was. They responded with what other people said, so He asked again, Whom say ye that I am?  He then told them of his coming death, at the hands of the elders, priests and scribes.)  Vs. 31. And he began to teach them, that the son of man (Jesus - god born as Man) must suffer many things, and be rejectedand be killed, and after 3 days rise again.  (He then helped them know the value of life:)  36. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mark 9: 31 - 32

For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, the Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. 32.  But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

Triune God -

Matthew 28: 18 20

And Jesus came and spoke to them saying: All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost:  20. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen

God Becomes our Heavenly Father

St. John 1:12 - 13
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, not of the will of man, but of God.

Newness of Life –

II Corinthians 5: 17
           Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new

Jesus expounded to his followers from the beginning of the the Bible to after his crucifixion, after he rose from the grave, how the prophets spoke of him, and how the verses refered to his suffering, crucifixion and ressurection. It is he who established the whole truth about the :
 Scarlet Thread of Redemption

Luke 24: 15 - 27

15 - and it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 - But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 - And he said unto them,  What maner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk and are sad?
18 - And the one of the them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 - And he said unto them, What things? and they said unto him, concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 - And how the cheif priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21- But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22 - Yea, and certain women also of our company made us asonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23 - And when they found not his body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 - And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 - Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 - Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 - And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Old testament scriptures quoted here will be those which refered prophetically to his coming. They explained in advance what God had revealed to men through out the ages of their coming Messiah. Not all have been fulfilled for we beleive he is coming again. He first came for our hearts, and to save our soul, but he will come again as king.
In Genesis, in the Garden of Eden, when the Adam and Eve sinned, God provided a sacrifice instead of punishing the people who sinned; he provided forgiveness, and a covering, but not complete freedom from Sin.
There was blood shed, and this instance is called a "first mention." The first mention of God's plan to bring about freedom from sin which included a blood sacrifice, thus beginning the "Scarlet Thread of Salvation" or the first mention of a plan to bring salvation in the form of freedom from sin in the Old Testament story. Everytime the Biblical story gives us a picture of how the savoir will play a part in fulfilling the plan, it is as if a stitch in time has been sewn into a larger tapestry of an unfinished picture. And since it is about a blood sacrifice, it is called  the Scarlet thread. The very word "Scarlet" is an element in the line of pictures leading up to the fulfillment in Christ's sacrificial death.  When Jesus says: "how slow of heart (are you ) to believe all the prophets have spoken," He is talking about the whole Old Testament, but especially the things that speak specifically to fore-shadow and explain God's plan, so that we could recognize that Jesus fullfilled the plan to perfection. These are also commonly called "picture types."  Any story or image that helps us visualize the element of salvation that Jesus would fulfil is a picture type. For example, Jesus often referred to himself as the Lamb of God. He is the final sacrificial lamb of all the lambs slain, beginning with the first in the Garden Of Eden. It is as if a thread is woven through out the Old Testament and up until Christ's death on the Cross, which ties everything together, that weaves an unrefutable picture of how to recognize the Savoir.

St. John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believed on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   (Read all of John 3.)
