Teaching My Heart

For a time, I blogged with 3 special Women, whose hearts were aimed at knowing more of Christ in their lives. Led by Christi Cotterman, on My Wings Are Made of Faith. Each of us has moved on to where the Lord has lead us, but I still love to go to these blogs and reread the messages God gave us. This is the link to my stories which I feel I can share, hoping not to lose them to Blog outer space, now that Christi is no longer publishing her site, but has moved to a newer location.

As I am able, I will reblog my stories on a page to this blog, simply because I wish to read them again, and be given God's words to me as if in my journal. To read what God shared with my heart, so I will never forget.

Welcome

Prayer is a personal thing. But sharing it with friends to let them help you pray, or partner with you for support is what Jesus taught about prayer. I learned a long time ago that journaling prayer was a great way to go back and see where God has taken you, and to be able to actually thank Him for answering your prayers. I also have seen where a group of women who prayed beleiving, came away from prayer with a new outlook on prayer. So if you would be inclined to join me, please do. You can be my partner in prayer, and I will share my Garden even as Jesus did his.

About Me

My photo
Cynthia A. Wilkerson
I am a child of God, saved by Grace. I was born again at age 9, but I loved God long before. I struggle each day with the Christian walk, but know that I do not walk alone. Now that there is a way to share the ups and downs, the stumbles and pain…and also how a loving God helps pull me through, I hope to encourage someone who feels unsure. Be encouraged my friend, everyone needs direction, and freedom from time to time. I join my friends on “Facebook” and My Wings Are Made Of Faith” in offering you resources for your walk. Jesus took his disciples to a garden to pray, and to teach them how to pray. Join me in my online prayer garden, and share a story and a prayer with us today. I am also an artist, designer, birder and genealogist. I have blogs and posts related to these and I love that I can do my journalling online, and hope that someday my children and grandchildren will benefit. Much love to all. Cynthia

Do you use a version other than King James Version?

I love the poetic words of the King James, and it is what I have memorized for years. But to many people, the old English is confusing and hard to learn. If you are someone who already uses another version or would like to, try the online help:

BIBLE GATEWAY at

http://www.biblegateway.com/

Here's a great example:
KJV (King James Version) says: I John 4:4

Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

NLT (New Living Translation) says:

The Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

There is no question who "He" is in the NLT. I still quote the KJV, but I sure do like the truth in the NLT on this verse.

CHILDREN'S CORNER

Playlist
It can be difficult to help children understand about who God is when he can't be seen literally. But sharing with our children, how many things in our world often are not easily seen, but are actually there, is helpful in making God real to them. Jesus himself used the wind as an example of how the Holy Spirit could be more easily understood. We cannot see wind, but know it is real because of its effects. Children love to play "Hide-n-seek", and often think they are totally hidden when they actually are not. There is always evidence there is a God, and children can be helped to Look for God even when we cannot easily "see" Him. Help them to understand they must look with their spirit and their heart. And that is called faith.
Ckeck out Ryder's page - Scriptures pages for Ryder and his friends - to find the Baby Bug pics where children may try to find what is hard to see, the hiding baby bugs.
